Video made my Dr. George Ampat, Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, Liverpool. Patients with musculo-skeletal
or joint pain are driven to take more and more painkillers. Unfortunately it does not help. One only gets
addicted to the painkillers. Lifestyle measures do help with musculoskeletal and arthritic pain. Exercising
without fear is important. Patients develop kinesiophobia or fear of movement. They then do no exercise.
When they do not exercise the muscles become weak. This provides less support to the bone and joints. The
decreased support increases the instability and the pain. Similarly eating fruits and vegetables increases
the good bacteria in the intestine. Eating meats allow bad bacteria to develop in the intestine. Man is a
frugivore and not a carnivore. Our intestines are 9 times the length of the body like chimps, gorillas and
other frugivores. Carnivores have a short intestine. Having a purpose and Ikigai is also important. Family
and friends help reduce the effect of pain. Free from pain.
